Survey Assistants are urgently required! FareShare is now upgrading its membership database; to enable more efficient management of the food we provide, better reporting to donors and funders in terms of impacts and also to help save time and cost! We therefore need assistants to conduct telephone questionnaires with our Community Food Members and record their responses. This role would suit confident communicators with good telephone skills who enjoy interacting with people. Great experience if you want a public facing or customer related role.
FareShare Greater Manchester relies on the hard work of committed volunteers who work as a team to organise and distribute our food supplies. We work with the community to help the community. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, many who have had to deal with the same kind of hardships faced by the people who our community partners provide food for. In 2015 FareShare benefited from over 6,000 hours of volunteering which is the equivalent of five full time staff.
As well as getting the satisfaction of knowing they are providing a crucial service that helps thousands of people everyday to get good quality food, our volunteers gain useful experience and training that will help them to obtain employment.
Volunteers for EMERGE contribute to the work of FareShare Greater Manchester by:-
Collecting and delivering donated food to projects for homeless people.
Compiling schedules for the shift and direct drivers safely to delivery and collection points.
Sorting and categorising the donated food and ensuring that it is of an acceptable quality for redistribution.
Assisting with the administrative tasks in the FareShare office including answering telephones and dealing with general enquiries, and data entry for collections and deliveries.
Mentoring/Buddying our Community Food Members (ideally food industry professionals on a corporate volunteer basis)
